Tri Valley Central High School Alumni & Faculty Pages

This web-site is for those who attended or taught at Tri Valley Central School in Grahamsville, New York. Although located about 130 miles northwest of New York City and situated in the Catskill Mountains, this area is one of the most scenic locations in the East. The information age has given those of us wishing to get reacquainted or stay in touch a place on the web to call home. Those looking for 'lost' friends may find them here. This site is not located or maintained at the Tri Valley Central School.  Click 50th anniversary to see the 50th anniversary book. It is a journey of the school from the very beginning until 2002.  The pictures and descriptions of the new buildings, teachers and students is well worth the few minutes to view them.

The information found here is intended to be of interest to alumni and faculty of ALL graduating classes. School history and facts, School related links, Reunion information and dates, etc. will be included as they become available. Inputs and ideas are welcome and encouraged. E-mail directories for each class (which list the e-mail addresses of those who wish to be contacted by other TVCS alumni) is constantly growing.

In developing this site and in discussions with classmates who graduated or who were part of our class during these years, we thought it was important to include those who did not graduate with us and wanted to be part of our community. If there is an * next to the name it is a notation that they did not graduate with us.  If you know of someone that fits in this special group or you are one, please join.

To send information (pictures, stories, upcoming event information, etc.) which may be used to make this a better web-site, or to have your e-mail address listed, contact: Bob Finch  bob.finch@tvcsalum.org - Class of '61. In my opinion the most interesting feature of this site other than the emails is the class pictures and newsletters. Be sure to look.  It is becoming a pictorial history of the school as well as the memories.

Acknowledgements; This web site is not the work of one individual but of several who have made many contributions.  This site is growing, thanks to Keith Carlsen and Hayes McCardell Jr. the son of Paula Allen class of '61, Joyce (Hall) Rice, Chris Denman and Keith Eighmey. The majority of the yearbooks were supplied by Alton Hall: 1957, 1960-1974; a significant contribution from Frank and the late Beverly Carlsen: 1952-1955, 1959; from Chris Denman: 1975, 1976; and Keith Eighmey: 1977, 1978. The Nielson family for 1956 and 1958 yearbooks, and Gary Carlsen for 1980 yearbook. A special thanks to Keith Carlsen who has done the majority of the research and scanning of the yearbooks and if it were not for his efforts this web site would not be as complete as it is.

Directory:

What is on this site

Section 2: is the Biography section.  You can let those in your class know what you have been doing by filling out the form in the biography section.  The form will then be placed next to your name in the email section.

Section 3: is the Current News section.  This section is a collection of items from any alumni that are submitted by email to me.  I then add them to the section.  You are welcome to send any item you think is important.

Section 8: Townsman:  this is the latest editions of The Tri-Valley Townsman starting with September 23rd, 2004.

Section 9:  TVCS History: This is in the works.  Because the school and the history of the area are so closely related we are adding a section containing  historical information about the Neversink and Grahamsville area. Primarily it will be about the families, so if you have anything you want to add, please send it along.

Section 10:  Quarterly newsletter from the Daniel Pierce Library.

Section 11: is for those who have their own sites and want to have it linked to this site.

Lastly, this site is only going to get better if you contribute.  Anything you send or any suggestions you have will make the site better.  If you have trouble with any section, please drop me a note and I will try to correct it.

Reunion Planning & Information

Planning a class reunion, click on reunion Information and fill out the form and it will appear in this column. If you want a response from me add your email address.  Any classes planning a reunion in the near (or not so near) future please send facts (graduation year, reunion details, prices, contact telephone numbers, e-mail, reunion web-page, etc.) If there are any reunions planned the graduation year will be below if there is information available.  Click on the year date below and it will take you to that class reunion information.

On the 2007 Columbus Day weekend the 1961 class had its 45th reunion. If you are thinking about having a class reunion these are a few suggestions from our experiences; we rented the Grahamsville fire hall to have the reunion in.  They also catered the lunch. We had the room until midnight. Because of the limited number of motel and hotel rooms available we asked classmates still living in the area if they would accommodate those coming considerable distances.  We had a very good response and many of us stayed with classmates. We had the reunion on a 3 day weekend because so many came from great distances, although there are only 30 in our class we came from all over the country.  It was fun and we had a great time.

Section 6

Yearbook, Class & Faculty Pictures and Newsletters

Click on any of the years or faculty below and it will take you to the page with pictures and information for the year and what we hope will be a collection of pictures and information for the faculty.  A simple click and you will see wonderful yearbook pictures, individuals and reunions.  It is a scrapbook for TVCS.  Our memories of school and college are strongly associated with the music that was popular at that time.  All the classes from 1950 to 1969 have the top songs of that year.  If you want any song let me know and I will email it to you.  Send any pictures you have by mail or email.  Those sent by mail will be scanned and send back.   These have contributed yearbooks for scanning or done the scanning and have contributed pictures. The photo's were scanned from nearly every yearbook from 1952 (TVCS first graduating senior class) to 1978.  For those that graduated during these years this is a trip down memory lane and for those of you who have parents or relatives that graduated during these years and do not have pictures these are great.  If you have class pictures, please send them. Also take a look at the class of 1978 and see the newsletter that Keith Carlsen did for their 25 anniversary. It is worth looking at.

Cool Links and School Links

To make this site more interesting and get you involved. The links below are for the school or alumni who have a site that they have put up either about their family or an area of special interest. Dave Singers web site is about white water kayaking that he has taken up as an hobby.  His descriptions and pictures are great and interesting.  RA Friedman has a site dedicated to Yiddish-American recordings.  These are a real part of our American heritage.  Both of these are worth clicking on and being part of a journey that an alumnus has made part their life. Mary (McGuire) Inghrim (class of 1959) have a web site: www.animalstuffandmoreonline.com Doug Baloy (class of 78) has a company that makes floats for Mardi Gras. Take a look by clicking on his name.
